The Boulevard St. Charles Senior Living Plant Operations Allows No Slip Ups With Building Safety

Building Safety Month takes place in May every year and is internationally recognized for raising awareness in keeping buildings safe.

This initiative unites industries, associations, academia, and government under a common goal to protect the public by creating a safe and resilient environment. Our primary focus as the Plant Operations Team at The Boulevard Senior Living St. Charles, MO is keeping our residents, visitors, and staff safe.

There are many tasks we perform to safeguard our community. While doing floors we always put a wet floor sign down, to let the residents know we are mopping or cleaning the floors. Door locks and latches are checked regularly to make certain they are working properly. Exit and fire doors are checked to make sure there are no obstructions in the way. We also hold monthly fire drills for residents and staff. We continue working with staff and new hires to make sure all safety concerns are communicated to everyone.

As Plant Operations Director I am responsible for both building maintenance and the safety of residents and staff. I am proud that we continue working on the hallway closets, marking all the electrical panels and the floor with yellow and black tape for proper 36-inch clearance in front of each panel.

I practice building safety at home as well. I continue working on items at home along with the community to make sure everything is properly stored and safe.
