The Boulevard Senior Living – St. Charles Uses Halloween for Some Fun Opportunities

There is no doubt that events and celebrations pull people together.  Here at The Boulevard Senior Living – St. Charles, we believe Halloween is a perfect time to build up our team and encourage workplace camaraderie. It helps create traditions, provides opportunities for intergenerational fun, and builds positive morale within the team. Plus, it’s a great holiday to let the team break loose and plan some seasonal fun!

This year, our team has already made toilet paper pumpkins and painted pumpkins with our residents. We will be having a community outreach trunk-or-treat with an outdoor movie on Thursday, October 20th at 6:00pm. Hocus Pocus will be showing while we are serving hot dogs and chili, with other refreshments. A trunk decorating contest with prizes for the best trunk is also planned.

Hosting this multigenerational event could help spark interests in the younger generation to seek a future career in senior living.

We will also be creating fall centerpieces for our Halloween Happy Hour on Friday, October 28th to get everyone even more into the “spooky spirit.” There will be an employee costume contest on Halloween with a prize for most creative costume.

Traditions like this are important because it gives the residents and staff something to look forward to and gives them the opportunity to get a little goofy and creative in their workplace.

Celebrating Halloween at work can be a great opportunity to have fun while teambuilding and improving company culture. As the Business Office Director, I love having these built-in opportunities to have fun and grow together as a team!
