What is memory care, and who benefits from it?
Memory care is a secure, supportive neighborhood designed for people living with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia. It offers structured routines, specialized support, and an environment that reduces stress and promotes comfort.
What training do Support Partners receive?
Support Partners receive initial and ongoing education in dementia care, communication strategies, redirection techniques, and safety best practices. Training focuses on supporting dignity, minimizing stress, and creating moments of purpose each day.
What additional certifications are required for Memory Care Directors?
Memory Care Directors hold a Certified Dementia Practitioners license through the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners.
How does the community personalize care for each resident?
The team completes care-based assessments before move-in and at regular intervals. These assessments guide a personalized plan that covers daily routines, safety needs, wellness goals, and preferred ways to communicate and connect.
How is memory care different from assisted living?
Memory care provides a higher level of structure, security, and dementia-specific programming than standard assisted living. Team members receive specialized training, and the environment is designed to support comfort, dignity, and daily success.
